Peru's President: XX Bolivarian Games unite our countries

The XX Bolivarian Games Ayacucho–Lima 2025, which officially begin today, unite the countries participating in these sporting events, President Jose Jeri stated on Friday as he welcomed the delegations taking part in the competition.

"For our government, it is a source of pride to welcome you today, just hours before the inauguration of the XX Bolivarian Games Ayacucho–Lima 2025, an event that unites our countries and which I am confident will be a great sporting celebration where you will showcase your skill and preparation," he expressed.

The Head of State noted it is a source of pride for the government to welcome the athletes just hours before the inauguration of the XX Bolivarian Games Ayacucho–Lima 2025.

"The Bolivarian Games remind us that, despite the borders that bound our countries, we are united by our history and by the future we share," he stated.

Addressing the sports delegations, the top official said that in each of the competitions they forge regional and national identity, demonstrate their skills, and show the world the courage and greatness of their athletes.

In this context, the President emphasized that Peru welcomes them with open arms, confident in its ability to host major events and showcase the best of the nation.

"I thank the Bolivarian sports organization for the trust placed in Peru to host this year's Bolivarian Games, which we are making a reality together with the Peruvian Sports Institute and the Peruvian Olympic Committee," Jeri expressed.

"We are all giving our best under the circumstances we have encountered in this event," he added.

The President gave a special greeting to the Peruvian delegation representing the country at the XX Bolivarian Games.

The Head of State highlighted their preparation, as he said they will uphold the country’s name in a spirit of fair competition, where each nation will showcase its best athletes to win the prizes.

"May the best win, those who have shown during this time their ability, tenacity, and constant effort," he added, reiterating that these Games will also grant visibility to the athletes.
