The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Friday stressed the importance of the Ministerial Cabinet receiving the vote of confidence from Parliament so that both powers can join efforts for the sake of the nation.

"We hope that today, at Congress, we will receive the confidence from Parliament. That trust must also be shown by working together. State powers cannot be divorced," he pointed out.

Likewise, the Head of State affirmed that the population's emergencies should be prioritized.

Within this framework, the top official stressed the importance of immediately solving the health and economic crises.

Furthermore, the President reiterated that Peru must work together with governments of foreign nations to solve their common problems.

"I call for closer dialogue with friendly countries that, like the United States, rely on the technological capacity and the willingness to cooperate with Peru," Mr. Castillo said.

"At these particular moments, there are major needs that other countries also face," he added.

On this occasion, the Head of State was joined by U.S. Ambassador to Peru, Lisa Kenna.
