on Tuesday affirmed that he is ready for dialogue and insisted on his call to talk with the nation's political sectors.
"We are willing to dialogue, we always have been, and from here we continue calling for dialogue, but there is a sector that does not believe in dialogue or the country," Mr. Castillo expressed, adding that during his visits to other provinces or regions the population tells him it is the first time that a government administration visits them.
Similarly, the Head of State said he is waiting for Congress to give the green light to the legislative proposals presented by the Executive Branch so as to boost the presence of the Peruvian State in hamlets or (remote) communities.
After deeming as sad the fact that inhabitants of (remote) provinces or regions point out that their zones have always been considered the Republic's backyard, Mr. Castillo indicated that an urgent issue in Peru is the internal debt owed by the State to sectors such as: health and education for the benefit of children and youth.
The top official reported that earlier today he had met with
Economy and Finance Minister Kurt Burneo, who —he remarked— has made himself available to the nation and is already engaged in dialogue with the business sector, which is doing its part, despite some rumors.
Among other actions, his administration —Mr. Castillo stressed— will seek to promote the reconstruction with changes so as to continue serving mayors and regions.
At the event, he highlighted the role of these authorities in fulfilling the commitments made to their constituents and the actions carried out during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Moreover, the President mentioned that from last January to date, the Government transferred about S/4.2 billion (about US$1.091 billion) to finance the execution of more than 2,200 public works in 450 institutions —including ministries, as well as local and regional governments.
