The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Monday reaffirmed her full support for the Armed Forces and Peruvian National Police for their work in favor of national integrity, domestic order, and the development of the country.

In this regard, the Head of State stressed that the country recognizes the commitment, effort, and performance of both institutions.

The remarks were made at the opening ceremony of the multi-national disaster response exercise organized by the System of Cooperation Among the American Air Forces (SICOFAA) "Cooperation IX - Peru 2023."

"As President of the Republic, I reiterate my full support for the Armed Forces and our National Police, for their heroic and selfless work in favor of national integrity, domestic order, and the development of the country," she said.

The dignitary underlined that the weather emergency that hit the country has dissipated, but she warned that no one can ensure that adversity will not strike again, and if this happens, the State, authorities and citizens must be prepared. For this reason, she called for unity across the town.

"From here, I call for unity of Peruvians. The Peruvian people have never given up in the face of adversity and will never give up. Also, we know how to stand up and keep going every time we have to face it," she emphasized.

The country's top official emphasized that, in recent months, her administration has gone through several crises of a political, social, and economic nature, one after another.

However, Mrs. Boluarte noted that she has proved that she has the strength and courage to move the country forward hand-in-hand with institutions and the community in general.

Multi-national disaster response exercise

The President of Peru highlighted the fact that the multi-national exercise organized by SICOFAA takes place in Peru, with the aim of mitigating the effects of natural disasters, such as large-magnitude earthquakes or the El Niño Phenomenon.

In this sense, she welcomed the presence of delegations from Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, the United States, Honduras, Panama, the Dominican Republic, and Uruguay.
