on Friday underscored that the Pacific Alliance is an integration process which responds to State policies, to a vision of the country —not a mechanism subject to ideological or political objectives.
The Head of State recalled that in November 2022, during the Business Summit held in Mexico, the Pro-Tempore Presidency was transferred to the Business Council's Peru Chapter —which took place in full respect of said regional bloc's institutional framework.
"With those same founding principles and with the obligations contained in the Pacific Alliance agreement, the transfer of the mechanism's Pro-Tempore Presidency to Peru must take place in the shortest possible time," Mrs. Boluarte underlined.
The top official mentioned that receiving the Business Council Declaration —which was adopted in November 2022— is a protocol act of enormous significance since it confirms the importance of the business sector's contribution to the work of leading governments.
The Head of State emphasized it is important to keep the fundamental objectives of the Pacific Alliance clear in order to continue working jointly and committed for the sake of citizens. Therefore, she highlighted the importance of boosting the dynamism of said alliance.
"We need the Pacific Alliance to relaunch itself, to recover its brightness, momentum, and dynamism so as to continue meeting our objectives and continue projecting ourselves, thus consolidating ourselves around the world," she expressed.
In this sense, the President said development is sought "in areas such as health, education, digitalization, autonomy, women's empowerment, full incorporation of micro- and small-enterprises, sustainable management, among others."
Moreover, Mrs. Boluarte reaffirmed her commitment to promote efforts concerted with the private sector on the basis of generating concrete benefits for citizens and, especially, the most vulnerable people.
Thus, she called for joint work with Pacific Alliance member countries to put the most vulnerable people at the center of the administration and they can become the core of efforts undertaken.
