10:25 | New York (U.S.), Sep. 21.

The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte met with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and the Vice President of the People's Republic of China, Han Zheng, within the framework of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) held in New York City.

At the meeting with the UN Secretary–General, both authorities discussed multilateralism, sustainable development goals, and other topics of interest to the country and the world.

On the other hand, the meeting with China's Vice President addressed issues in the fields of economy, trade, and investment.

Thus, Peru strengthened its bilateral relationship with China in terms of technical, scientific, and technological cooperation on issues linked to culture, education, and health.

During the meeting, President Boluarte extended a formal invitation to both the Vice President and President of the Asian giant to visit Peru within the framework of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum to be held in 2024.

Also on Wednesday, Mrs. Boluarte headed to Times Square to see a "Peru Brand" ad that had been displayed on different digital screens since Monday.

During the activity —which was intended to promote tourism, investment, and exports— the Head of State was joined by State Ministers and representatives of the Peruvian Chapter before the Pacific Alliance.

Additionally, the dignitary took part in the annual meeting of the UNGA Platform of Women Leaders.

The session included the participation of Hungarian President Katalin Novák, Bulgarian Prime Minister Mariya Gabriel, as well as other heads of state and government.

During her participation, the Peruvian top official reaffirmed her commitment to ensuring an environment of equality for women, without discrimination and violence.

The UNGA Platform of Women Leaders is a special initiative of PGA and UN-Women that invites all current women Heads of State and Government to discuss priority issues on the international community's agenda and identify solutions to today's complex and interlinked challenges.

The UNGA Global Platform of Women Leaders stems from a meeting on 21 September 2021, between women Heads of State and Government and Mr. Abdulla Shahid, the President of the 76th session of the General Assembly. The aim of that meeting was to place gender equality at the forefront of the multilateral arena.
