Peru's President meets with Google director to promote education projects

The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Wednesday afternoon held a meeting with Google's Director of Government Affairs and Public Policy for Emerging Markets, Doron Avni, to promote digital projects in favor of education.

At the meeting, which took place within the framework of the IX Summit of the Americas, the Head of State and the technology company representative also discussed the consolidation of citizen service through a digital government.

The event saw the participation of Economy-Finance Minister Oscar Graham, too.


Both dignitaries also addressed food security and support for small farmers.

At 5:00 p.m. (local time), the Peruvian president will attend the opening ceremony of the IX Summit of the Americas, hosted by the President of the United States, Joe Biden.

During his participation in the Summit of the Americas, which will end on June 10, the Peruvian dignitary plans to hold a series of bilateral meetings with his counterparts from the region, as well as meetings with representatives of U.S. companies and international organizations.

The Summit of the Americas is being held once again after a recess due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The previous edition took place in Lima, Peru, in 2018.
