The
President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Wednesday affirmed that the Government will strengthen the operational capacity of the Special Operations Division "Green Squadron" in order to combat citizen insecurity.
The top official remarked that said action will be intended, for example, to make preventive patrols in the main areas of high crime incidence more efficient.
This morning, the Head of State inspected the facilities of the Special Operations Division "Green Squadron" in downtown Lima.
During the inspection, the President underscored that said police unit is a benchmark in the fight against crime, and recognized the commitment and sacrifice of its members to complete this task.
"I congratulate you for fulfilling your mission of fighting citizen security, which is so necessary for the progress of the population," Mr. Castillo said.
Moreover, the dignitary reminded citizens that one of the Government's goals is to ensure peace and security at private, public institutions and schools.
Only in this way, he said, will the desired economic development be achieved.
Likewise, the Head of State urged Interior Minister Willy Huerta to reveal the needs of the Green Squadron, as well as the options to direct an immediate response to crime.
Similarly, Mr. Castillo called on citizens to trust in said police unit.
"The Special Operations Division 'Green Squadron' has and will have my support, as well as my backing for the objectives of citizen security in Lima and all regions," he emphasized.
