However, Mrs. Boluarte warned that only 28.7% of female artisans work formally in Peru, which poses a major challenge for her administration.
"Our government is committed to improving and perfecting the work of our female artisans by providing them with the necessary tools to grow and establish themselves in the national and international markets," she indicated during the "National Award for Women Artisans" ceremony on Thursday evening.
In this regard, the top official highlighted that through seven
Centers for Productive Innovation and Technology Transfer (CITE),
training, innovation, and coordination activities have been financed in the amount of S/4.7 million (about US$1.25 million) nationwide, benefiting more than 4,492 artisans in 226 Peruvian districts.
President Boluarte said that the work, talent, and perseverance of Peruvian female artisans inspires us all.
Similarly, she reaffirmed her commitment to continue supporting them in their efforts so that more women can access formal employment.
The Head of State emphasized that her government is working towards a country where the talent and effort of each individual are valued and transformed into opportunities, generating a positive impact.
"We pay tribute to our female artisans, who with their work exalt the name of Peru worldwide and offer us a lesson of resilience, strength, and love for our land. Our artisans are more than creators of unique pieces; they are builders of hope, leaders in their communities, and guardians of our culture," Mrs. Boluarte expressed.
The top official concluded her speech by reiterating her call for unity among all sectors of civil society, businesspeople, and the government.
"All together, pushing our country to continue leading Peru along the path of prosperity," she said.
