The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte emphasized that her administration promotes a public policy aimed at transforming the educational system to make it more productive, equitable, and high-quality.

Remarks were made on Tuesday after participating in the signing of the Social Pact for Education.

"This pact is not just a document or a piece of paper that is forgotten over time; this pact is a commitment to the future of our daughters, our sons, and future generations of the country," Mrs. Boluarte stated.

"Therefore, our government promotes a public policy aimed at transforming the educational system to make it much more productive, equitable, and high-quality," she added.

The top official stressed that the government's commitment to education has enabled, for the first time, exceeding the 5% GDP threshold as budget allocated to the education sector for 2025.

In this regard, Mrs. Boluarte reaffirmed that she remains firm in her decision to move towards the desired budget equivalent to 6% of GDP for education.

"Education is the foundation on which we will build a better Peru, and this pact will help us achieve it with its four fundamental axes, which will guide us on this path and toward this goal," she underlined.

Within this framework, the president mentioned that educational infrastructure and equipment are being enhanced through the construction of 75 Bicentennial Schools in Lima Metropolitan Area and 9 regions of the country, in addition to the implementation of modular schools.

The top official underscored the revaluation of educators, noting that meritocracy and training are the pillars, along with a salary increase for teachers at the first level of the scale.

She also mentioned technical education and training for work as a priority of the Pact for Education.

The Head of State said the document signed at the Lima-based Government Palace is an opportunity to settle historical debts and build a future of opportunities for all.

"Peru is unstoppable, Peru does not stop. Next month we will host the APEC forum with the participation of leaders from the most important economies across the Asia-Pacific region," Mrs. Boluarte emphasized.

"Another example of the confidence that Peru inspires at an international level; we are clearly a reliable partner. Let us continue working for education, for the economy, and for closing social gaps, toward a better Peru in democracy and peace," she concluded.
