The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Tuesday affirmed that her presence at the United Nations General Assembly, in the United States, serves to demand world leaders to fight against poverty, hunger, and climate change.

"This meeting of world leaders brings us together to tell the entire world that we must think about protection of the environment and climate change, that the planet's temperature has risen, and that generates all this climate instability, mainly in Peru," Mrs. Boluarte indicated.

"Besides, I think that we are here to bridge the poverty gap and demand the world; we all have to fight hunger, which hurts the soul," she added.

In statements to the press at the United Nations headquarters in New York, the Head of State noted that this was the purpose of her presence at the meeting of this international organization.

On the other hand, the top official emphasized that the defense of democracy and respect for the rule of law have endured firmly after the coup d'état perpetrated by ex-President Pedro Castillo.

"And (today) we are in a process of pacification across the country and in permanent dialogue, calling for unity and for working together to achieve development, because we can generate development in moments of peace and in dialogue," she said.

On the other hand, the dignitary explained that Peru has been able to manage the relations with neighboring countries in the region, noting that it will continue to strive for their improvement.
