Prime Minister Anibal Torres on Wednesday stressed the need for everyone in the country to work together so as to lead the country towards its development and put Peru first, without any discrimination.

The high-ranking official noted that the Ministerial Cabinet is an example of joint work, as it is made up of ministers from different political parties.

"It (the Cabinet) is made up of ministers from different political parties, and we all agree to work together to lead the country towards its development," he stated.

"As the Congress Chairwoman also said, we have to put Peru first, without any discrimination," the Cabinet chief expressed.

With regard to the social conflicts, the head of the Ministerial Cabinet indicated that the Executive Branch has been working hard on preventive measures to avoid harming the population in different regions.

In this regard, he underscored that representatives of the Executive Branch, communities in the district of Ccapacmarca, and Las Bambas mining company agreed to lift the blockage in the Southern Mining Corridor, after a work meeting held in Cusco.

Mr. Torres highlighted the fact that, through dialogue, community members, the company, and the State have agreed a 45-day truce to implement the agreements they have reached.

"We will fully resolve the conflict in said sector, because the corridor is quite large, and we have been told that other communities are planning to implement forceful measures, but we are trying to engage in dialogue and resolve the conflict, and we will succeed; rest assured that this will be the case," he underlined.

Furthermore, the head of the Ministerial Cabinet mentioned that the necessary means will be provided for private activities, which will generate jobs and economic growth in Peru.

Torres' remarks were delivered on Wednesday afternoon at a press conference after a new session of the Council of Ministers held at the Government Palace in Lima.
