on Friday welcomed the fact that Peru has emerged as the most stable economy in Latin America.
Peru reached 56.28 points, displacing Chile, which obtained 52.79 points.
"Fortunately, the economic activity has not been affected (in Peru). Economically speaking, we enjoy better stability than any other country in Latin America; we are a country that does not pose risks for private investment," he expressed.
In this sense, the Cabinet chief invited national and foreign companies to invest in Peru, pointing out that they rely on all guarantees and security to conduct their economic activities.
Dialogue
Concerning dialogue with parliamentary benches, in view of the vote of confidence, the Prime Minister highlighted the respect, frankness, and transparency of these conversations.
"Some (parliamentary) benches will grant us the vote of confidence, others probably not; that depends on their will; we submit ourselves to the decision of Congress," he said.
On the decision of Juntos por el Peru (Together for Peru) political party not to attend those meetings, Torres indicated that the group has already sent a document including their suggestions on issues to be considered within the Government's general plan.
"We appreciate it, and they will be taken into account," he added.
Minister of Justice
Moreover, the Cabinet chief affirmed that he was not aware of the complaints against
Justice Minister Angel Yldefonso during his tenure as Attorney for Ancash Region Government.
Thus, Torres will talk with Yldefonso about the issue, noting that it should be investigated. However, he said, the official had not been imposed any sentences, administrative sanctions, or constitutional charges.
"We are going to assess (the matter) because complaints can be filed during the exercise of the function," Torres said when asked if he would consider the minister's departure.
Prime Minister Torres traveled to the northern city of Chiclayo. He was joined by a delegation composed of Ministers Dina Boluarte (Development and Social Inclusion); Oscar Graham (Economy and Finance); Hernan Condori (Health); and Roberto Sanchez (Foreign Trade and Tourism); among other officials.
