Peru's Prime Minister Anibal Torres on Thursday called on all sectors of the country to engage in dialogue and to put the country first.

"We have to see one another as brothers and sisters," he said, invoking the need to find points of agreement for resolving problems whose solution is urgent for the country.

In this regard, the Cabinet chief cited the example of the agreements made by the Government with truckers, enumerating the mechanisms set to meet their demands.

Moreover, he said the sector showed intelligence and concern for the country's development by being prone to dialogue.

On the other hand, Mr. Torres questioned the fact that the Ministry of Interior is seen as responsible for letting those involved in criminal acts avoid justice, without taking into account the role of other entities.

In this respect, he criticized the fact that the allusions made by the Government to the Judiciary and the Public Ministry "are viewed negatively."

The high-ranking official explained that such criticism is made because the Government wants the justice system to improve, without negative sentiment.

His remarks were delivered during the ceremony marking the opening of the 18th session of the Decentralized Council of Ministers held in Ancash region.
