Prime Minister Alberto Otarola, joined by State Ministers, is holding a meeting with the Secretary-General of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Mathias Cormann, for the presentation of the Economic Survey of Peru.

The presentation of said economic survey is the first review of Peru as part of its accession process.

The Cabinet chief highlighted that the meeting with the OECD delegation is testimony to Peru's commitment to its accession to such multilateral organization.

"The joint presence of State ministers reflects the technical efforts made by the sectors to achieve the stated goals," he remarked.

"We are working very hard on this process, which began a few years ago. We all want this visit to be fruitful and to address the problems, progress, and challenges facing Peru ahead of its accession to the OECD," Otarola stated.

Mathias Cormann is leading a OECD delegation visiting the country from September 26 to 28.

During its stay in the country, Peru will be able to reaffirm the values shared by OECD members, such as the value of democracy and the values of open and competitive economies, among others.

Moreover, Foreign Affairs Minister Ana Cecilia Gervasi affirmed that the presence of Cormann is of the greatest relevance and significance because it reflects the support of the organization and its member countries for Peru's accession process.
