Peru is making progress on strengthening the mechanisms linked to digital governance, adapting the provision of more than 14,000 public services to this format,
"From the PCM (Presidency of the Council of Ministers), through the Government and Digital Transformation Secretariat, we will continue taking concrete steps so that digital transformation becomes a reality in the country," he expressed.
The Cabinet chief indicated during his speech that, joined by the private sector, the Government boosted the digitalization of more than 14,000 State services and promoted the use of digital wallets at (food) markets and stores.
In this context, more than 130,000 people have been trained to adapt them to digital mechanisms, said Otarola, who also admitted that, despite these advances, there are still enormous gaps in Peru regarding this issue.
Future projects
The Cabinet chief pointed out that, along with the
Economy-Finance Ministry, work is being carried out on a public investment project that
"will enable us to continue advancing with the provision of inclusive digital public services, the construction of a solid digital infrastructure from the State, the analysis of territorial data to make decisions, and the prevention of digital risks in favor of people."
Another measure to be adopted in this sphere is the strengthening of the High-Level Committee for a Digital, Innovative, and Competitive Peru, he said.
Within this framework, the Cabinet chief stressed that from the Government "we are making decisions to meet the population's major needs" in the digital sphere.
The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte was also present at this ceremony.
