On the occasion of the celebrations marking the 202nd Anniversary of Peru's Independence, Line 1 of Lima and Callao Metro System painted passenger service trains in red and white in order to promote the pride of being Peruvian among trains users.

Through aerial images taken by drones, Andina news agency verified that, in addition to the red and white design, the trains feature iconic images of the Peruvian culture, such as representations of Machu Picchu and the Nazca Lines.

Likewise, the trains display images of the Shipibo art, the Peruvian soccer team's red-white jersey, the Marca Peru (Peru Brand) logo, and national phrases to raise the spirits of Peruvians.

This initiative gives passengers a new travel experience connected to Peru, and continues to promote civic education among citizens, especially on such important days.

Sandra Alencastre, institutional relations manager at Line 1 of Lima Metro, underscored that the service is not only a means of transportation, but also an active channel for learning and the promotion of citizen culture.

Moreover, Alencastre noted that this is a tool for strengthening identity, history, and the pride of a nation as diverse as Peru.

"We want our more than 530,000 passengers and all citizens to see these trains move across the 11 districts included in the Line 1 route every day, remembering these major icons that unite us, fill us with pride, and make us unique," she stressed.

The entity reported that tailoring these trains with the Peru Brand official designs was made possible thanks to the certification on the use of the Peru Brand granted by Peru's Commission for Promotion of Export and Tourism (PromPeru).
