The company
stated that public and private sectors must continue working as a team in order to enhance transportation connectivity and infrastructure in Peru.
"It is essential that the private and public sectors continue working together to strengthen and promote investment in connectivity and other complementary infrastructure," said LAP's General Manager, Juan Jose Salmon, during the inauguration ceremony of the New Jorge Chavez International Airport.
"We must also simplify processes that promote and allow us to consolidate the Callao-Chancay axis as the region’s best service hub," he added.
In that regard, the high-ranking officer noted that there is strategic economic potential stemming from the proximity between the new terminal and the ports of Callao.
"The proximity between an international airport of this magnitude and the country’s main seaports enables a multimodal transportation corridor capable of simplifying and streamlining the movement of cargo and passengers. This strategic integration reduces costs, optimizes time, and positions Peru as a top-level logistics hub in South America," he emphasized.
For this reason, Salmon called on the Executive Branch to “take the next step” and prioritize the development of regional airports, as the private sector is ready.
"It is also very important to move forward with the next step (which is) to materialize the development and growth of regional airports. I can attest that private operators are ready and committed to this," Salmon said.
"Let's work together for the growth and connectivity of other airports in the country, strengthening the entire airport system. Improvements in air connectivity and competitiveness will directly benefit all Peruvians, enabling more equitable and decentralized development," he concluded.
