So far, three political organizations have not been able to register their presidential tickets to take part in the 2026 General Elections due to challenges filed against their candidates.
These are
Avanza Pais – Partido de Integracion Social (Go On Country – Social Integration Party), Renovacion Popular (Popular Renewal), and Peru Primero (Peru First), according to information from the Electoral Platform of the National Elections Board (JNE).
The status of the list submitted by Avanza Pais – Partido de Integracion Social is challenge under review. The political organization's ticket is made up of the following candidates:
Presidency: Jose Williams Zapata
First Vice Presidency: Fernan Altuve-Febres Lores
Second Vice Presidency: Adriana Tudela Gutierrez
The status of the list submitted by Renovación Popular is on appeal. The political organization’s ticket includes the following candidates:
Presidency: Rafael Lopez Aliaga Cazorla
First Vice Presidency: Norma Yarrow Lumbreras
Second Vice Presidency: Jhon Ramos Malpica
Meanwhile, the status of the list submitted by Partido Politico Peru Primero is on appeal. The political organization’s slate is composed of the following candidates:
Presidency: Mario Enrique Vizcarra Cornejo
First Vice Presidency: Carlos Hernan Illanes Calderon
Second Vice Presidency: Judith Carla Mendoza Diaz
For the 2026 General Elections, 36 political organizations applied for registration to take part in the presidential race.
So far, 32 have successfully completed the registration process.
The applications submitted are subject to verification to ensure compliance with registration requirements, including candidates' résumés, government plans, electoral quota rules, and confirmation that candidates are not subject to legal disqualifications from running for office, among other criteria.
