The attraction, which has been closed since March due to a landslide triggered by rains that affected the access route, will be reopened on Monday, April 28 —one day after the works on Route 3-A: Huayna Picchu Route are completed.
"This measure seeks to guarantee the safety of visitors and tour guides and the protection of the archaeological structures within the framework of new consolidation and restoration works on recently identified Inca walls," the DDC indicated in a statement.
Access routes suspended
In this regard, it has also been arranged to temporarily suspend entry to Route 3-C: Great Cavern Route and Route 3-D: Huchuy Picchu Route, from April 17 to 20, 2025, as these routes are directly associated with Route 3-A.
Entry tickets
Regarding previously purchased tickets, the DDC Cusco indicated that the following alternatives have been arranged for visitors:
• Tickets Route 3-A Huayna Picchu: refund or change to Route 3-B.
• Tickets Route 3-D Huchuy Picchu: refund or change to Route 1-B.
• Tickets Route 3-C Great Cavern: refund or change to Route 1-C.
