The National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE) delivered to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs the electoral materials to be used for voting by Peruvians abroad during the upcoming 2026 General Elections.

The materials were transported by trucks from the Electoral Management Office warehouse in Lurin district to the Foreign Affairs Ministry headquarters, under Peruvian National Police protection.

In addition, the transfer was continuously monitored via satellite, ONPE stated on Sunday.

The materials include ballot papers, electoral records (installation, voting, and vote count), attendance control sheets, zeroing reports, candidate and results signs, among other items.

Upon arrival at the Foreign Affairs Ministry, the units were received by Foreign Affairs Minister Hugo de Zela and ONPE Chief Piero Corvetto.

For the 2026 General Elections, 1,210,813 Peruvian citizens will vote outside their country of origin.

Among the cities with the largest number of Peruvians eligible to cast ballots abroad are Santiago, Chile; Buenos Aires, Argentina; and Madrid, Spain.

This electoral process will allow citizens to go to the polls to elect the next President of the Republic, Vice Presidents, Senators, Deputies, and Representatives to the Andean Parliament.

The General Elections will be held on April 12, 2026, with a potential runoff for the presidential race scheduled for June 7 of the same year.
