On the last day of competitions, Peru achieved four more gold medals in chess and swimming, and two silvers in men’s indoor five-a-side football and women’s volleyball.

The Peruvian Sports Institute (IPD) indicated that the national chess team consisting of Paula Paredes, Aurora Félix, Alexander Príncipe and Diego Cuellar were crowned as the 2010 champions.

It is worth to mention that Paredes and Felix obtained the two gold medals, and Principe won a bronze one.

In swimming, Gerardo Huidobro achieved a gold medal in the 200-meter competition, whereas the women’s relay team earned a bronze medal.

Meanwhile, the men’s indoor five-a-side football team held the second place after losing against Brazil in the finals.

Finally, in women’s volleyball, the girls ended up as runner-ups after being defeated by the Brazilian team in straight sets (25–13, 25-19 and 25-16).
