Domestic and foreign tourists planning to visit Machu Picchu, Peru's iconic tourist attraction, will now be able to verify the validity of their admission tickets online, the Ministry of Culture announced on Wednesday.
The Executive Branch institution specified that this can be done through a feature recently introduced on the TuBoleto platform.
Tickets can be verified using the holder's ID number, booking code, or visit date.
The Ministry of Culture noted that this measure will help prevent the use of counterfeit tickets or those not associated with a legitimate purchase.
"This allows users to verify that their tickets, including those purchased through travel agencies, correspond to a valid purchase recorded in the system," it emphasized.
The Ministry of Culture added that the feature enables visitors to verify their tickets even when they do not have them in physical or digital format.
In such cases, visitors can access the TuBoleto platform, enter their ID number, and select the search-by-visit-date option to check their ticket information.
Staff responsible for admission control at Machu Picchu will also be able to use this tool to check ticket information and assist visitors in retrieving or downloading their tickets, when necessary, before proceeding with the admission process.

Finally, the Ministry of Culture stated that it continues to improve TuBoleto's digital services and provide tools to enhance the experience of domestic and foreign visitors to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu.
