Tickets to visit Machu Picchu Archaeological Sanctuary and the Inca Trail in 2024 will be available for purchase from Wednesday, December 20, on the tuboleto.cultura.pe platform, the Ministry of Culture has reported.

"As of December 20, 2023, tickets to enter the Archaeological Sanctuary of Machu Picchu and the Inca Trail routes will be available on the tuboleto.cultura.pe platform for visits in 2024," a release reads.

"First, prior to purchasing tickets, visitors must sign up by logging on to tuboleto.cultura.pe, select the date and time of their visit, as well as the number of tickets they wish (to acquire), entering the respective data (into the system)," the release added.

The text ends with a call for visitors to the archaeological complex —Peru’s main tourist attraction— "to comply with the entry time, relying on a 30-minute tolerance period, in accordance with the purchased ticket."

Sustainable use

Ministerial Resolution No. 000508-2023-MC, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano last Thursday, strengthens the sustainable use of this cultural space and provides a regulatory tool that allows for implementing concrete actions to adequately monitor the flow of visitors to Machu Picchu.

The Ministry of Culture underscored that this regulation is of vital importance, since it will allow for strict control of the (admission) times assigned to circuits for visits to Machu Picchu and that only the number of authorized visitors remain at the site, without overloading this archaeological site —considered one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.
