Peru's
Prime Minister Alberto Otarola and
Foreign Affairs Minister Ana Cecilia Gervasi met with high-ranking authorities from Latin America, Europe, and Asia, strengthening strategic alliances for the country and the Peruvian foreign policy, as part of an official trip to Brazil, where they participated in the inauguration of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.
The Cabinet chief —accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs— held various meetings with leaders, to whom he said Peru lives full democracy, following the constitutional succession of the transitional government of President Dina Boluarte.
"The meetings we have held with various presidents not only from the region, but also with European, Asian and African ones, have been fruitful. They have expressed their interest in doing business in Peru, which they recognize as a megadiverse country," he remarked.
Likewise, he told the Heads of State that the fundamental approach of the Peruvian Government will be to consolidate democracy and governability.
"The rule of law, the consolidation of democracy, the separation of powers, and the governability in the country constitute the fundamental approach of this Government," the head of the Ministerial Cabinet stated.
In this regard, he urged those investing in Peru to maintain confidence and encouraged potential investors to invest in the country, where there are clear rules for investing.
"Investments and free trade improve economic indicators, which contribute to a better quality of life for Peruvian families. They lead to a virtuous circle of the economy since they produce great benefits for the country, such as new jobs, well-being of citizens, and development in Peru," Otarola emphasized.
Congratulatory message to Lula da Silva on inauguration
The Peruvian authorities reaffirmed their intention to strengthen the strategic partner relationship between Brazil and Peru, as part of the South American integration process.
At the meeting, the authorities stressed the importance of strengthening the integration process in the region and OF working together on priority issues, such as indigenous peoples' issues, the protection of the Amazon, defense cooperation, and the expansion of bilateral trade.
Moreover, during their participation in the inauguration of President Lula da Silva, the head of the Ministerial cabinet and the head of Torre Tagle held a talk with King Felipe VI of the Kingdom of Spain, with whom they discussed issues of common interest between Peru and Spain.
Likewise, the Peruvian Prime Minister held meetings with presidents of Paraguay, Ecuador, and Germany, as well as the U.S. National Security Council Director for Western Hemisphere Affairs of the United States, Juan Gonzalez.
Foreign Affairs Minister's meetings
For her part, Foreign Affairs Minister Ana Cecilia Gervasi held a fruitful meeting with her Spanish counterpart, Jose Manuel Albares, with whom she reviewed the main issues of the bilateral relationship.
The head of Torre Tagle thanked the Spanish Foreign Affairs Minister for his permanent cooperation with Peru and his support for the institutional, democratic process in the country.
