During the
signed two Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs), with the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Korea (South Korea).
The agreements aim to strengthen bilateral cooperation to benefit the tourism sector, promote sustainable tourism, as well as foster economic and cultural growth.
Both agreements reflect the commitment of the three economies to strengthen the tourism industry, making it more innovative and competitive, based on collaboration and mutual understanding.
Similarly, they contribute to strengthening bilateral relations between the parties and position Peru as a strategic partner in the Asia-Pacific region, committed to the development of tourism, the economy, and culture.
The first document, signed with the
Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China,
underlines the importance of cooperation between the two countries in the conservation of cultural and natural heritage, the development of smart tourist destinations, the creative economy, as well as the training and development of human capital in the sector.
This MoU also promotes research, technological innovation, and the joint promotion of tourism marketing projects.
Besides, it establishes a solid foundation for the practice of sustainable and responsible tourism, with China considered a key strategic partner in these areas.
Likewise, this document promotes cooperation in education and professional training, as well as the adoption of successful models of tourism management and collaboration within international tourism organizations.
The MoU with South Korea also seeks to align the efforts of both countries with biodiversity and climate change agendas, in addition to promoting sustainable and regenerative tourism.
