Following coordination between Peru's Embassy in Canada, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Ministry of Culture, two cultural assets belonging to the nation's cultural heritage were recovered.

The items consist of two valuable vessels from the pre-Hispanic Huaura and Chancay styles, developed on Peru's central coast during the Middle Horizon (600–1000 A.D.) and Late Intermediate (1000–1476 A.D.) periods, respectively.

They were voluntarily returned by Canadian citizens Paula and Pascale Caldwell, whose family resided in Peru in the 1970s and had the cultural assets in their possession.

Aware of the importance of preserving a nation's history and identity, the Caldwell family decided to return the items to the country of origin.

This recovery reaffirms the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' commitment to protecting and restoring the nation's cultural heritage.
