The Brazilian Attorney General's Office submitted said document to the Lava Jato Case Special Prosecution Group in Peru so that it provides the respective clarifications to the observations which motivated said suspension and they can be officially sent to Brazil.
"With the official response, it is expected that the Brazilian Attorney General's Office will reassess the temporary suspension and resume legal cooperation," the
Public Ministry expressed in a statement.
As is known, the
Federal Public Ministry of Brazil determined the suspension of the legal cooperation agreement with Peru, linked to the Odebrecht case, following a request from the company Novonor, the current name of Odebrecht, according to EFE.
Novonor claimed an alleged violation by Peruvian authorities of the agreement signed by both parties, which includes the "non-use of evidence produced in Brazil" against the company in the jurisdiction.
In addition, he ruled out that the decision, of a temporary nature, invalidates what had been advanced in said proceedings.
