The Special Prosecutors' Team Against Corruption in Power (Eficcop) raided Nicanor Boluarte's apartment, located in Lima's San Borja district, on Wednesday morning.

Media outlets reported that a team of five prosecutors, led by Deputy Provincial Prosecutor Raul Guerrero Quispe and accompanied by police agents, entered the property located on the second floor of a condominium.

They clarified that the procedure is not related to the Los Waykis en la Sombra case.

The raid targets over 10 additional properties in Lima and Ayacucho, including public offices and properties belonging to Boluarte's close associates.

Transportation and Communications Minister Cesar Sandoval commented on the operation carried out by the Public Ministry (Prosecutor's Office), which he deemed as "political persecution."

According to Sandoval, the measure aims to emotionally influence President Dina Boluarte.

Likewise, he criticized the Prosecutor's Office for not raiding the homes of drug traffickers, hitmen, terrorists, and those who attack citizenry.

"I particularly stand in solidarity against abuse and authoritarianism," he expressed.

The Transportation and Communications minister stated that justice in Peru has been instrumentalized.

Thus, he called for the restructuring of the Public Ministry (Prosecutor's Office) and the complete reorganization of the judicial system.
