Peru: Prosecutor's Office inspects ONPE over supplier contracts in General Elections

The Public Ministry (Prosecutor's Office) reported that an inspection is being carried out Wednesday at the National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE) headquarters in Lima to collect documentation related to the contracting of service providers linked to the April 12 General Elections.

According to its official account on X, the document disclosure procedure is being conducted by the Supraprovincial Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (First Office).

"The Supraprovincial Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (First Office) is conducting a document disclosure procedure to gather information on new contracts entered into between ONPE and other service providers linked to the April 12 General Elections," the post stated.

It is specified that the prosecutorial action is being carried out alongside agents from the Peruvian National Police's Anti-Corruption Directorate (Dircocor).

The action is part of an investigation into the alleged crime of aggravated collusion being led by the Prosecutor's Office against the former ONPE head, Piero Corvetto; Jose Samame; and other individuals involved
