Peru: Prime Minister and U.S. Ambassador inspect Black Hawk helicopter

Peruvian Prime Minister Gustavo Adrianzen and U.S. Ambassador Stephanie Syptak-Ramnath inspected one of the nine UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters donated by the United States to Peru to reinforce efforts against drug trafficking and transnational crime.


During the presentation of this initiative, held in Lima on Saturday, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs Brian A. Nichols highlighted the solid collaboration between both countries in anti-narcotics efforts, which dates back over 50 years.

"I am sure that the achievements made in the fight against transnational crime and drug trafficking will be amplified with the integration of this advanced technology in Peru," Nichols stated in Spanish-language remarks.

Prime Minister Adrianzen, accompanied by U.S. Ambassador Stephanie Syptak-Ramnath, inspected one of the Black Hawk helicopters during the protocol ceremony.

The Peruvian Cabinet chief emphasized the importance of this strategic cooperation in ensuring security and combating organized crime.
