The
President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Saturday reiterated his request to Lima Region Governor Ricardo Chavarria so that —once and for all— the Lima Provinces Agenda be established and submitted to the Council of Ministers to find the way to channel the budget respective, for the benefit of the area's inhabitants.
Likewise, the Head of State reiterated his administration's firm commitment to the development of Huacho, as well as to the fight against crime and corruption.
"We are going to contribute to Huacho, which is a historic and brave town," he stated while addressing various residents, the region's governor, and Huaura Mayor Hugo Echegaray.
The top official noted that "we want safe cities, as well as clean and healthy beaches, but we also want to fight crime, the corrupt, and the lazy ones."
"Crime has challenged us for a long time," he warned and underlined that citizens must stand united to combat this scourge.
Noting that after 200 years of republican life there are still towns lacking access to water services in Peru, the top official emphasized that "we came here to assume a responsibility joined by the population."
The President also asked Mr. Echegaray to arrive at the Government Palace next week, along with district mayors and leaders of his jurisdiction, to hold a work meeting and take care of their demands.
Later, Mr. Castillo arrived in Chancay to make an unexpected visit to the port of this town.
