The President of the Republic, Jose Jeri, oversaw the training of future officers and non-commissioned officers of the Peruvian National Police.

The Head of State visited the "National Hero PNP Captain Alipio Ponce Vásquez" Police Technical Higher Education Academy in Lima's Puente Piedra district.

The top official was accompanied by Interior Minister Vicente Tiburcio and PNP General Commander Oscar Arriola, who oversaw the training and induction of young recruits choosing to honorably wear the nation's uniform.

During his visit, the President inspected the personnel's training activities.

He also took part in the flag-raising ceremony and the singing of the national anthem.

The academy provides technical and higher education training, as well as instruction in values such as honesty, discipline, and respect for human rights, aiming to achieve the highest standards and serve as a benchmark for police training in Peru.

Its facilities include a shooting range, athletic and combat tracks, gyms, and specialized classrooms for investigating crimes such as robbery, homicide, and cybercrime, among others.
