The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo announced the start of the program called 'Retorno a su País' (Return to their Country) with the aim of expelling those foreigners who commit any crime in Peru.

Via Twitter on Friday, the Head of State indicated that there will be a frontal fight against crime, since the Government cannot allow "Peruvian families, who deserve a quiet life in peace and freedom, to continue being hurt."

"I have ordered that the 'Return to their Country' Program be initiated by the Ministry of Interior so that all foreigners who commit crimes in Peru are expelled," Mr. Castillo expressed.

"I appreciate the willingness of the Venezuelan Embassy and other embassies with which coordination is being undertaken," he added.

According to another publication, the Head of State indicated that the Government salutes and recognizes the Joint Command of the Armed Forces, soldiers, and members of the National Police of Peru who fight against terrorism and in favor of the pacification of this country.

Within this framework, the top official expressed solidarity with soldier Oscar Pinedo and his relatives. Pinedo is being treated in the town of Pichari (Cusco region).

Similarly, Mr. Castillo condemned the events that occurred last Thursday during a Parliament plenary session to Cambio Democrático (Democratic Change) party legislator Isabel Cortez.

"We reject any type of violence and discrimination, which is even worse if it comes from Congress. Before the eyes of the world, we have seen how a Congresswoman, who emerged from the bowels of the people, is discriminated against," he expressed.
