Peru: President leads working meeting on Unified Airport Usage Fee

The President of the Republic, Jose Jeri, led a working meeting at the Lima-based Government Palace to address matters related to the Unified Airport Usage Fee (TUUA).

"The President highlighted the importance of reaching the necessary consensus so as not to compromise the country's competitiveness or affect its image abroad," the Presidential Office reported on social media.

The airport fee or TUUA is related to the various services provided by LAP to passengers at Jorge Chavez International Airport facilities during passenger, baggage, cargo, and mail dispatch procedures.


Earlier, the Head of State held a working meeting with the mayors of the Association of Municipalities in the Valley of Apurimac, Ene, and Mantaro Rivers (Amuvraem). 

At this event, the top official said the government will make every effort to meet the expectations of provincial and district municipalities.

"Our goal is to carry out some type of intervention that can have a lasting impact and try to close as many gaps as possible," he pointed out.

The President stated that priority will be given to small-span bridge projects with approved feasibility, interventions through the Llamkasun Peru temporary employment program, as well as sanitation, health, and education projects.

Congressman Luis Aragon was also present at the meeting.


Likewise, the Head of State received Congresswoman Kelly Portalatino, representatives of the Luz y Fuerza Workers' Federation, and mayors from various districts of Ancash region.
