The President of the Republic, Jose Jeri, on Tuesday received the letters of credence from the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Peru, Bernardo "Bernie" Navarro.

The ceremony was held at the Government Palace in Lima.

Upon arrival at the Executive Branch headquarters, the U.S. ambassador was received with the corresponding honors.

The Head of State was accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister Hugo de Zela during the ceremony.

Meanwhile, Navarro Carbonell was accompanied by U.S. Embassy Chargé d'Affaires Joan Perkins.

Following the ceremony, the President and the Ambassador discussed issues of mutual interest, including efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation and existing trade agreements between the two countries, among other affairs.

Navarro Carbonell is a businessman with experience in the finance, real estate, and mortgage financing sectors.

He has pursued activities in both the corporate sphere and civic-educational settings, combining private-sector management with public engagement.
