Peru: President Fujimori recognizes PNP work in capturing those involved in Trujillo crime

The President of the Republic, Keiko Fujimori, on Monday expressed her recognition of the Peruvian National Police (PNP) for its swift response in capturing those allegedly involved in the murder of four people in Trujillo and freeing a citizen who had been held captive.

Likewise, the Head of State extended her deepest condolences and solidarity to the families of the four victims, who lost their lives in the northern city of Trujillo last Sunday.

"My recognition to our police force for its swift and firm response in this case. Four individuals allegedly involved in this reprehensible crime were captured, and the citizen who had been held captive was freed," Fujimori stated on social media.

The top official said there will be no respite for crime, adding that the Government will respond firmly to this scourge.

Indeed, following an operation carried out at different points across Trujillo, the police located and safely freed mining businessman Jenss Lara Tantaquilla.

The police operation also led to the arrest of individuals allegedly involved in the

violent kidnapping and the murder of four people in the early hours of Sunday.
