Afterwards, she was welcomed by Judiciary Chairwoman Janet Tello.
The ceremony was held in the Vidaurre Hall at the Palace of Justice. It aims to recognize the daily work of judges in safeguarding fundamental rights, social peace, and the rule of law.
The event was attended by Senate Chairman Miguel Torres and Chamber of Deputies head Oscar Reto.
Decree Law No. 18918 of 1971 established August 4 as Judges' Day and mandated the annual holding of activities to highlight the work of those who contribute to the administration of justice.
In 2020, following a proposal by Janet Tello, then-chairwoman of the First Temporary Chamber of Constitutional and Social Law of the Supreme Court, the country's highest court approved naming the main ceremony Judges' Day.
