Peru: President coordinates Executive Branch response to Indigenous peoples' demands

The President of the Republic, Jose Maria Balcazar, announced the holding of a technical meeting with various Executive Branch sectors to advance concrete solutions and strengthen coordinated efforts for the benefit of Indigenous peoples.

This was reported by Presidential Office on X while referring to an audience between the Head of State and Awajun community representatives.

"President Jose Maria Balcazar held a meeting with representatives of the Awajun community, who presented demands related to road projects, educational infrastructure, healthcare, and access to basic services in border areas," the Presidential Office indicated.

During Thursday's session, the top official announced a technical gathering among representatives of various ministries aimed at strengthening the coordinated work these sectors carry out for the benefit of Peru's Indigenous communities.

"Dialogue to address the needs of our communities," the message concluded.
