on Thursday announced the execution of a gap-closing plan for the population residing in the oil sector of Datem del Marañon, Loreto, Alto Amazonas, Requena, and Maynas provinces in Loreto region, northeastern Peru.
Thanks to this initiative, which will entail an annual investment of S/200 million (about US$54.48 million) as of 2023, development projects will be carried out, in compliance with the commitments assumed to local authorities, community representatives, and civil society of Loreto.
During her speech, the Head of State reaffirmed the Executive Branch's commitment to work for the comprehensive, sustainable, and inclusive development of the Amazonia.
Similarly, she reminded attendees that a series of actions have been implemented to date in order to make progress on closing gaps and building infrastructure.
For example, 113 drinking water and sanitation works are underway, with an investment of more than S/1.2 billion (over US$237 million), which will benefit at least 245,000 inhabitants of Loreto, Amazonas, Madre de Dios, San Martin, and Ucayali regions.
In June, the lighting and security system for the Nanay Bridge will be convened for S/3.3 million (about US$899,938).
Furthermore, Mrs. Boluarte highlighted the execution of the project to deploy fiber optic networks and wireless connections to provide internet to 326 public institutions, located in 271 population centers belonging to the Napo and Putumayo River basins.
