The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Tuesday announced the establishment of a technical roundtable to address the problem of small-scale mining and artisanal mining in Peru.

Mr. Castillo met with representatives of said sector at the Government Palace's Courtyard of Honor in Lima.

Afterwards, the Head of State pointed out that if there have been regulatory mistakes that affected small miners or artisanal miners, these will be corrected.

"The regulations and decrees that are harmful to our brothers must be corrected by setting up a technical roundtable starting today, because we believe it is important that they be listened to in order to meet their demands," he said.

Within this framework, the dignitary expressed his readiness and political will concerning the aforementioned dialogue roundtable for the benefit of Peru's working class.

Furthermore, the top official assured that his administration will provide its full support for the process of formalizing informal miners.

Moreover, the President confirmed that the Government Palace's doors will always be open to listen to the population.

In this sense, he recalled that the consequence of having had administrations that did the opposite has led to "a postponed country" that demands its right to health and education.

Lastly, the President urged citizens to remain vigilant of the Government's actions and report when an official does not work or commits any wrongdoings.
