on Monday announced that more than 400,000 teachers will receive a salary increase starting this month (March), consisting of an additional S/200 (US$55) in their pay, with another S/200 added starting in November.
She added that both increases will allow educators to reach a minimum salary of S/3,500 (US$958 approximately) by the end of 2025.
"Because when we dignify our teachers, we strengthen Peru. We are a Government that delivers and puts in the effort," emphasized Mrs. Boluarte, who reaffirmed her commitment to improving education in Peru.
The top official reiterated her call to sign a pact that transcends ideologies and political affiliations, so that public works will not be halted with the change of authorities starting in 2026.
"That is why it is very important that we remain united and that, as citizens, we can sign this pact for the country. Because when it comes to education, there should be no adversaries; there is only one objective: the well-being of the people and the progress of Peru," she stated.
The President also highlighted that her Government had invested more than S/9 billion (US$2.464 billion) in educational infrastructure, adding that 132 new schools are ready to welcome over 80,000 students across 11 Peruvian regions starting today.
"Additionally, more than 25,000 educators were incorporated into the public teaching career competition, increasing the percentage of tenured educators to 74%," she concluded.
