Peru: Presidency congratulates athletes Kimberly Garcia and Diego Elias

The Presidency of the Republic on Sunday evening highlighted the recent accomplishments by Peruvian athletes Kimberly Garcia, in racewalking, and Diego Elias, in squash.

Last Saturday, Garcia won a gold medal at the Grand International Cantonese Prize, held in La Coruña, Spain, securing the consecutive championship in the 20-kilometer distance.

In turn, Elias was crowned as world squash champion, after defeating Egyptian Mostafa Asal, ranked 3rd worldwide.

Both athletes are seen as strong contenders for securing gold medals at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
