The Missing Persons and Human Trafficking Investigation Unit of the Peruvian National Police (PNP) in Cusco has reported the disappearance of a Canadian national who was scheduled to arrive at the southeastern Peruvian city's Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport.

The missing person has been identified as 47-year-old Jame Lea Anne Summers.

Her daughter, 21-year-old Zoey Reece Longman —also a Canadian national who is currently staying at the San Francisco lodging on Tupac Amaru Avenue in Cusco—filed the missing person report last Monday at approximately 6:30 p.m. (local time).

The young woman provided details about her mother, stating that she currently resides in the Yanahuara community, Urubamba Province, located next to the Vida Wasi Peru Hospital.

She added that they had planned to meet at the airport last Monday at approximately 12:54 p.m.

Mother and daughter were last in contact on Sunday via WhatsApp, during which they agreed to meet inside the Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport. However, the meeting did not take place.

Police said that the woman's whereabouts remain unknown as of now.

Additionally, her mobile phone (403-318-4891) is currently switched off.
