Prime Minister Luis Galarreta met with Peruvian National Police (PNP) General Commander Fredy Lopez to evaluate ongoing actions and planned measures to strengthen citizen security.
The information was released by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM) on X.
"With or without legislative powers, the Government acts against crime," the social media post stated.
The PCM also noted that strategies to combat crime and ensure Peruvian families' safety were reviewed during the meeting.
"The Executive Branch reaffirms its support for the National Police and strengthens its operational capacity to confront those who threaten public order and security in the country," it added.
