on Wednesday called on elected regional authorities, who will take up duties in January 2023, to work together with the aim of meeting the needs of each constituency.
During a
press conference held at the Government Palace in Lima, the Cabinet chief indicated that the decision for
State ministers to travel to
Peruvian regions will remain in force.
Besides, "I personally maintain contact with the authorities who will complete duties and those who will come (take office)."
"Once again, we call, especially, on regional governors who are going to take up duties on January 1 (2023); we need to work with you, we need projects to be reactivated in your regions, to assume the responsibility of working with the Government and meeting your population's needs," he expressed.
In this sense, the high-ranking official said the call "is open" so that efforts can be (jointly) undertaken by regions, the Government, various institutions, and ministries which are part of the Executive Branch, "aimed at reducing gaps, addressing situations of poverty and malnutrition that affect the vulnerable populations."

"They have the full support of the Peruvian Government within their competencies; they are traveling to the provinces; they will make contact with all stakeholders. In addition, Peru ratifies what it has signed, in terms of international agreements; besides, it ratifies its full support for international regulations," he added.
Mexico
Regarding the situation of ex-First Lady Lilia Paredes and her children, who are now in Mexico, the Cabinet chief indicated that said country was informed that she is immersed in a preparatory investigation, while ensuring that there is no political persecution in Peru.
"Mexico has granted asylum under the Caracas Convention; the classification and concession correspond to Mexico. Peru is respectful of international law," he added.
