Within this framework, the high-ranking official emphasized that measures are being adopted regarding energy consumption in order to maintain public calm.
"From the government, we call on citizens and business groups to join a collective effort to overcome the current situation. We are adopting measures regarding energy consumption and travel for a few days, which will allow us to maintain public calm in the following weeks," she expressed.
The Prime Minister said that, in light of contingency in the natural gas transportation system, the functioning of hospital services has been prioritized.
She added that "coordinated work among the sectors involved and companies in the energy sector has been activated to address this situation swiftly and guarantee the continuity of supply."
Likewise, the Cabinet chief said that President Jose Maria Balcazar's government is clear that it must "look beyond this contingency" and stop postponing key projects so as to strengthen energy security.
"Today, in this government, we assume the responsibility of changing that history, and we are not only addressing this crisis, we will also leave strategic projects underway that strengthen our energy infrastructure and generate greater backup capacity, ensuring the continuity of productive sectors and the peace of mind of families," she pointed out.
Remarks were delivered during a ceremony marking the delivery of an addendum to strengthen infrastructure, equipment, and the modernization of health services at the Social Health Insurance System's (EsSalud) Trecca Tower, located in Lima's Jesus Maria district.
