Peru: Payment schedule announced for 2026 Machu Picchu entry reservations

11:00 | Lima, Jan. 13.

The official payment schedule for 2026 entry reservations to the Machu Picchu Llaqta was announced on Tuesday, with the aim of ensuring an orderly and transparent process, according to the Decentralized Directorate of Culture in Cusco (DDC Cusco), attached to the Culture Ministry.

According to the communiqué, payments for reservations will be enabled progressively from today, January 13, through Saturday, January 17, 2026.

This is in line with the scheduled visit dates between March and July 2026 for the
Machu Picchu Llaqta.

The DDC Cusco clarified that the system will open at two times: 8:00 a.m. for the first group of dates and 12:00 p.m. for the second. In all cases, reservations will remain available until 11:58 p.m.

The schedule specifies, for example, that reservations for visits scheduled from March 1 to 15, 2026, may be paid starting January 13 at 8:00 a.m., while those corresponding to March 16 to 31 will be enabled later that same day beginning at 12:00 p.m.

This same scheme will be applied in a similar manner for April, May, June, and July.

The Ministry of Culture reminded tourists that this measure is intended to facilitate planning for both domestic and international visitors, while also optimizing tourism management and the conservation of Peru's most emblematic cultural heritage site, Machu Picchu.
