The National Coordinating Senior Prosecutors of the Specialized and Criminal Prosecutor's Offices of the Public Ministry issued a statement rejecting "any attempt to distort the autonomy of this institution."

Similarly, they noted that the Board of Supreme Prosecutors is the body responsible for electing the Attorney General.

The prosecutors lamented the events that occurred at the Public Ministry's headquarters, which —they warned— "harm the institutional framework of the Public Ministry and undermine citizens' trust in the justice system."

Likewise, they stated that the Board of Supreme Prosecutors elects the Attorney General, in accordance with Article 158 of the Peruvian Constitution.

The National Coordinating Senior Prosecutors of the Specialized and Criminal Prosecutor's Offices also reaffirmed their commitment to the Constitution, the rule of law, the citizenry, and to the firm fight against organized crime, corruption, violence, and any form of impunity "a commitment led by the Attorney General."
