Peru: MEF expects public works to exceed US$15.90 billion in 2025

Economy and Finance Minister Jose Arista said he expects public works execution to surpass S/60 billion (US$15.902 billion) in 2025, after having exceeded S/57 billion (US$15.107 billion) by the end of 2024.

"On the budget execution side, as I mentioned in previous presentations, we have reached S/57 billion in the execution of (public) works. We hope to increase it next year to over S/60 billion (US$15.902 billion)," he stated.

Regarding the tenders awarded by the State-run Private Investment Promotion Agency (ProInversion), Arista pointed out that these exceeded US$8 billion in 2024. For 2025 and 2026, they are expected to surpass US$16 billion.

"As for private investment, we expect to surpass US$50 billion," the head of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) underlined.

In this regard, the government official mentioned that the presence of President Dina Boluarte at the upcoming World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, is aimed at showcasing Peru as a country which is a magnet for investments.

"An attractive country, an interesting country, a country that strives to provide security for investors because we need to invest in order to continue growing," he emphasized.

Remarks were made during a press conference following the Council of Ministers session on Wednesday afternoon.
